Our Objectives

          Membership Objectives

 

  • To be Open and Affirming Communities of Faith.
  • Help church members to identify their spiritual gifts and to discern their own place within the ministries.
  • Organize ministry groups that maintain a sense of community among church members and assist individuals to find their place in fellowship.
  • Through the Pastoral Ministry, continue to meet the spiritual and physical needs of church members who need special support, for example, those who are homebound, members of the GLBT Community, the divorced and remarried.

    Outreach and Community Programs Objectives

     

  • Provide budget and management support for the Outreach Program at our parishes in particular in working for social justice.
  • Within three years, triple the budget allocated to Outreach activities.
  • To be a welcoming House of Faith reaching out to divorced and remarried, the unchurched, and the GLBT Community.
  • To be a platform for change in the Christian Community at large toward acceptance.
  • To participate in the annual GLBT Pride Festival in San Diego.

    Management Objectives

     

  • Develop ongoing stewardship education programs to increase the number of pledging units and to support individual growth in proportional and planned giving.
  • Develop plans and funding to effectively utilize the our facilities to meet expanded parish and community needs.
  • Expand the current administrative support services and data management procedures.
  • Provide leadership so the staff members will take responsibility for the security and maintenance of the church and grounds.
  • Maintain sound fiscal management for the expansion of a future site of our own.
  • Study ways to expand worship services to meet the needs of an increased membership and plan for clergy to accommodate those needs.
